The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road is seeking applications for a Middle School Advanced Math Teacher to teach advanced math in a middle school classroom. Applicants should be able to:
Plan and execute rigorous, teacher created, hands-on thematic and project based lessons
Implement and support instruction and assessment practices for a diverse group of students that reflect the Florida Standards and the principles of our Charter
Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members and others to support and implement the goals of the school
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
Current Florida Teaching Certificate (Mathematics)
Experience teaching middle school students
Strong classroom management
Familiarity with the Florida Standards
Familiarity with the Key Components of the SAS Charter (view school website)
Clear Background Screening (Florida Clearinghouse Information)
PREFERRED
Conscious Discipline Training
Experience with the MTSS/RTI process

The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road (SAST) uses an internal list of substitute teachers that is separate from the Leon County Schools substitute list. The typical school day is from 8:45 am – 3:45 pm. Pay is $16.00 per hour for approximately 7 hours per day, depending on the need.
