Elementary Associate Teacher
The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road is seeking applications for full-time Associate Teachers to work with a Lead Teacher in 2nd/3rd grade multi-aged elementary classroom.

The Associate Teacher assists the Lead Teacher in creating a supportive and successful classroom environment. Building connections, supporting learning, and bringing joy into the classroom are all part of a day’s work.
Applicants should be able to:
Plan and execute rigorous, teacher created, hands-on thematic and project-based lessons
Implement and support instruction and assessment practices for a diverse group of students that reflect the Florida Standards and the principles of our Charter
Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members and others to support and implement the goals of the school
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
Familiarity with the Florida Standards
Familiarity with the Key Components of the SAS Charter (view school website)
PREFERRED
Current Florida Teaching Certificate (Primary and/or Elementary)
Experience teaching elementary-aged students
Strong Classroom Management
Conscious Discipline Training
Reading endorsement
Experience with the MTSS/RTI process
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Annual salary starts at $27,500.00 and is commensurate with education and experience

School Counselor
The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road is seeking applications for a full time Guidance Counselor.
The SAST Guidance Counselor will support the Social/Emotional Learning of students in grades K-8. They will work with the Dean of Students to:
- Plan and implement SEL lessons in all elementary classrooms.
- Offer Small groups for specific social, and self-regulation skills
- Offer One-on-one behavior support as needed.
- Support teachers with student behavior plans.
The Dean and the Guidance Counselor are also responsible for all Bullying and Harassment investigations, as well as Threat, and Suicide Risk Assessments.
This is a full-time salaried position and qualifies for benefits, including health insurance.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
Current Florida Teaching Certificate (Primary and/or Elementary/Guidance)

Substitute Teacher
The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road (SAST) uses an internal list of substitute teachers that is separate from the Leon County Schools substitute list. All substitute teachers must have an approved background check done through Leon County Schools prior to working at SAST. If you would like to be added to the SAST substitute teacher list please provide a resume or cover letter by mail, hand delivery, or email to sasoffice@leonschools.net. Include your experience, class preferences, and the hours and days of your availability.
The typical school day is from 8:45 am – 3:45 pm. Pay is $14.00 per hour for approximately 7 hours per day, depending on the need.
