SAST is currently hiring for the following positions:

Theatre Teacher (Grades 6-8)

The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road (SAST) is seeking applications for a part time (approximately 20 hours per week) Theatre Teacher to teach in a multi-aged classroom (grades 6-8). Applicants should be able to:

Plan and execute rigorous, teacher created. hands-on lessons

Teach, coach, direct and demonstrate the elements of drama and theatre that include but are not limited to: acting, script writing, technical methodology of theatre, production process, theatre as lenses on history and culture, and critiquing.

Lead, manage and inspire student centered theatrical productions two or more times each year.

Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members and others to support and implement the goals of the school

REQUIREMENTS

Experience teaching Theatre

Strong Classroom Management

Familiarity with the Key Components of the SAS Charter (view school website)

Morning Availability

Substitute Teacher

The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road (SAST) uses an internal list of substitute teachers that is separate from the Leon County Schools substitute list. All substitute teachers must have an approved background check done through Leon County Schools prior to working at SAST. If you would like to be added to the SAST substitute teacher list please provide a resume or cover letter by mail, hand delivery, or email to sasoffice@leonschools.net. Include your experience, class preferences, and the hours and days of your availability.
